We're half way done with the first semester - time is going quickly! As we approach our second PTA Meeting, which was scheduled for Tuesday October 10th, I'd like to remind you of our Parent Program with Reggie Dabbs on Wednesday October 18th at 6:30pm. We will hold a brief General PTA Meeting that evening beginning at 6:15pm. This event will take place in the Auditorium. We hope to see you then!
A few upcoming reminders to share. We're wrapping up the Fall Fundraiser and know the students are anxious to receive the final goodies and experience the cash crawl. As expected, several orders trickled in after the turn in date, but we were able to deliver all orders to the vendor last week. Thank you to everyone who helped us along the way!!
Our BoxTops parents are promoting their first competition through Oct 25th. The top 2 contributors from each grade will receive a $5 gift card to Chick-Fil-A. Place entries into a ziplock bag and write the student's name/grade/homeroom teacher on the bag. Bags may be turned into the front office or to the homeroom teacher.
Spirit Night restaurant ideas - do you have any? We'd like to get one scheduled soon.
The State Fair begins this week. If you plan to purchase tickets, consider this purchasing through http://www.ncstatefair.org/2017/Visitor/Tickets.htm and entering code 312 at checkout. $2 from every adult admission and $1 from every child admission will be donated to our school.
SAVE THE DATE! Our first PAWS event will take place the morning of Friday Nov 3rd. It will be held outdoors on the football field and we will be looking for volunteers to help pass out goodies and help with crowd control. If you're unfamiliar with the PAWS Program - it's a reward program based on behavior and grades. Typically over 1,000 students qualify, so it's a busy day! Keep an eye out for a sign-up-genius posted on the PTA Website/Facebook/Twitter if you'd like to help us that morning.
Speaking of PTA Website/Facebook/Twitter - are you connected? This is the main way to communicate quickly with our volunteers, so bookmark us! We do have a few Board openings we need to fill, and if you haven't filled out your volunteers interests yet, you can do that online, too. Please, help spread the word. We're only as strong as our support will allow.
I hope you all have a great week!
